LogPoint moves into the ERP security market by connecting SAP, used by hundreds of thousands of enterprises across the globe, to the central cybersecurity infrastructure in any SIEM.
COPENHAGEN & STOCKHOLM – August 25, 2020 – LogPoint, the Modern SIEM and UEBA company, has completed the transaction to acquire Munich-based agileSI, a world-leading SAP security solution, from Orange Cyberdefense. Going forward, the technology enabling the full integration of security data from the SAP platform into SIEM solutions will be known as LogPoint for SAP.
“The lack of security in ERP systems is a real threat to the global economy. In most enterprises, ERP systems are not part of the central cybersecurity infrastructure, making it prone to threats. While enterprises and organizations invest massively in new ERP systems to streamline operations, maximize efficiency and boost digitalization they often fail to invest in protecting these business-critical ERP systems from cyberattacks,” says LogPoint CEO Jesper Zerlang.
SAP is a market leader in ERP systems, analytics and supply chain management. The platform is one of the principal highways of the global economy and trading infrastructure used by 92% of Forbes Global 2000 companies. SAP customers distribute 78% of the world’s food and 82% of the world’s medical devices, and according to a 2018 Oxford Economics analysis, 77% of the world’s transaction revenue touches an SAP system.
“With LogPoint for SAP, we extract relevant security and compliance data from SAP and connect it to the enterprise SIEM solution. We unleash the advanced analytics capabilities of the SIEM, enabling correlation with other security data and full integration into the central cybersecurity infrastructure. By doing that, we address the SAP security blind spot, protecting global enterprises, organizations and their customers,” says Zerlang.
The inclusion in the LogPoint family will add significant development resources to LogPoint for SAP and provide access to market-leading support and customer success services. LogPoint will accelerate the development of ERP-to-SIEM technology including advanced machine learning features and support for other global ERP platforms.
“ERP systems are a critical part of the infrastructure in any enterprise, and I would challenge any CEO or CFO to ask their CISO how their ERP security data is protected from cybersecurity attacks. In eight out of 10 cases I believe the answer is that ERP systems have very limited protection. With LogPoint for SAP we are ready to address this blind spot,” says Jesper Zerlang.
LogPoint for SAP is SIEM-agnostic and provides integration with all leading SIEM providers, including LogPoint, Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight and others. Following the divestment of agileSI, Orange Cyberdefense has entered a partnership with LogPoint, who will provide future SIEM, UEBA, and SAP-to-SIEM technology for the leading European security services provider.
