One of the greatest challenges MSPs and MSSPs face is accurately managing customer licenses and ensuring proper billing. Without detailed reporting, they often struggle to track and bill customers for their consumption. Logpoint Director resolves this by providing a detailed overview of the number of nodes and cloud nodes in use.
They can also generate comprehensive reports on node usage by pool and machine–or even create a consolidated report that encompasses both, ensuring transparency and precision in billing their services.
Enhanced Security and Compliance with Role-Based Access Control
Managing user access to critical systems is essential now that compliance regulations and cybersecurity risks are on the rise. However, if not done properly, this multitenant dilemma can also lead to compliance gaps or security vulnerabilities. With role-based access control (RBAC), Director allows MSPs and MSSPs to implement strict access segregation. This new comes with three role options: Admin, SIEM Engineer, and ReadOnly, to ensure that users only access the information and perform the functions they need.
This release also introduces the concept of user groups. Admins can manage user roles and create user groups to assign them to specific pools and limit access to others. SIEM engineers and ReadOnly users have only access to their assigned pools. SIEM Engineers can set up machines and policies in those pools, while Read Only can see the log sources and the configuration details but lack editing rights. In addition, Admins can now manage user authentication methods to align with organizational security policies, simplifying compliance adherence.
Easy Management of Cloud Log Sources for Multiple Tenants
Managing and integrating diverse log sources can be a complex task for MSPs and MSSPs, especially if they’re dealing with several tenants. Director simplifies this process with expanded support of templates for cloud fetchers, enabling providers to add and manage a wider range of cloud-based log sources effortlessly.
As organizations rely on an increasing variety of log sources, the lack of a standardized approach to configuration and management creates inefficiencies. Director’s template-driven configuration reduces the complexity of onboarding and distributing log sources, making setup faster and more consistent. These improvements empower service providers to deliver more reliable and efficient services.
