Eight new agreements will create jobs and spur industry growth

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Dec. 9, 2015 – Through eight agreements signed today, Boeing [NYSE: BA] is helping Danish companies create high-tech jobs and compete in large global markets including unmanned aerial vehicles, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing. The total value of the company’s collaboration with Danish industry now stands at more than 28 billion DKK.

Today’s agreements expand and solidify Boeing’s existing partnerships with the Danish Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (DAMRC), Danish Aerotech, IFAD, Falck Schmidt Defense Systems, LogPoint, Scandinavian Avionics, Sky-Watch, Systematic, and UAS Test Center Denmark. Boeing is working with these partners on long-term projects including a state-of-the-art cybersecurity and data analytics research and development (R&D) center; an autonomous and unmanned aerial systems R&D center; a titanium machining center; air-to-ground control systems with U.S. and NATO interoperability; and increased Danish product integration across Boeing’s vast commercial and defence aerospace portfolio.

“We have been working closely with Danish industry over the past five years to ensure that all Danes have an opportunity to benefit from a partnership with the world’s largest aerospace company,” said Gwen Kopsie, Boeing vice president, International Strategic Partnerships. “The scale and scope of these projects prove that Boeing will far exceed Danish industrial cooperation requirements in support of our F/A-18 Super Hornet offering for Denmark’s New Fighter Program.”

Boeing’s industrial engagement plan for Denmark includes more than 90 projects with nearly 40 Danish companies spanning more than 20 municipalities across the country. In total, Boeing has issued DKK 3.5 billion in purchase orders and bid opportunities to Danish companies to manufacture components or provide systems for Boeing commercial aerospace and defense platforms, including the 777, NATO AWACS, Chinook, Harpoon missile simulators, and acoustic data systems.

According to a recent study, collaboration between the Danish defense industry and Boeing in areas of corresponding strengths could result in the creation of more than 10,000 jobs in Denmark and the addition of 6 billion DKK to Denmark’s GDP over 20 years.

A unit of The Boeing Company, Defense, Space & Security is one of the world’s largest defense, space and security businesses specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world’s largest and most versatile manufacturer of military aircraft.
